Breaks, Expenses, and Notes
The Timesheet Android App not only tracks working hours but also helps you manage breaks, expenses, and notes — either during an active timer or after completing a task.
Adding Entries
- While the timer is running:
Tap the Pencil icon next to the project name on the timer screen to add a break, expense, or note. - After completing a task:
Go to the Task Details screen and navigate to the relevant tab (Breaks, Expenses, or Notes) to add or review entries.
Breaks
Track work breaks (e.g., lunch, tea breaks) to accurately measure productive working time.
How It Works
- Pause the timer during an active session or add breaks manually later.
- Each break requires:
- Start and end time
- Optional description
Break Calculations
- Absolute Duration: Total time (including breaks)
- Relative Duration: Total time minus break time
Use these metrics to calculate working hours and wages with or without break deductions.
Expenses
Record task-related costs (e.g., materials, travel, accommodations) for reimbursement or accounting.
Key Features
- Add expenses during or after a task.
- Categorize expenses as Paid or Unpaid for tracking reimbursements.
- Attach receipts (image or PDF) for proof of payment.
- View expense summaries in:
- Task Details (individual expenses)
- Project Details (aggregated project costs)
Notes
Attach contextual notes to tasks for reference, documentation, or follow-ups.
Note Details
- Include a timestamp, description, and optional file attachments.
- Useful for:
- Recording task-specific instructions
- Storing relevant documents
- Adding reminders for future actions
