Settings
The Settings screen allows you to configure Timesheet to match your workflow. Customize formats, timer behavior, export options, and appearance to create your ideal time tracking experience.

Accessing Settings

- Open the Timesheet app
- Tap the More tab
- Tap Settings
- Browse and modify settings
General
Language
Set your preferred app language from the available translations. The app will display all text in the selected language.
Theme
Choose your preferred appearance:

Regional Settings
Configure formats to match your locale and preferences.
Currency
Set your preferred currency for salary and earnings display.
- Type any currency symbol or code
- Examples: $, €, £, CHF, ¥
- Used throughout the app for monetary values
Distance Unit
Choose the measurement unit for mileage tracking:

First Day of Week
Set which day starts your work week. All seven days are available:
- Monday - International standard (default)
- Tuesday through Friday - Custom work weeks
- Saturday - Some regions
- Sunday - US convention
Affects weekly statistics, filters, and charts.
Date and Time Formats
Date Format
Choose how dates are displayed. Multiple formats are available, including:

Time Format
Choose from four time display options:

Duration Format
How time durations are displayed:

Timer Settings
Configure how the timer behaves.
Rounding
Round tracked time to the nearest interval:

| 6 minutes | Tenth of hour | 2:23 → 2:24 |

| 30 minutes | Half hour | 2:23 → 2:30 |

Rounding Type
How rounding is applied:

Default Task Duration
Pre-set duration when manually adding tasks:
- Set in minutes (e.g., 30, 60, 90)
- Applied to new manual entries
- Can be adjusted per task
Edit View After Stop
When enabled:
- Edit form opens automatically when you stop a timer
- Ensures you add description, tags, etc.
- Prevents forgetting to complete task details
Reset Timer
Use the Reset Timer button to clear the current timer state. This is useful if the timer gets stuck or you want to start fresh.
Enable "Edit View" if you often forget to add descriptions or tags after stopping.
Break Settings
Configure break tracking behavior.
Default Break Duration
Pre-set duration for manually added breaks:
- Set in minutes (e.g., 15, 30, 60)
- Applied when adding breaks manually
- Can be adjusted per break
Break Rounding
Separate rounding setting for breaks:
- Same options as timer rounding
- Can differ from task rounding
- Useful for different billing rules
Edit View After Break
When enabled:
- Edit form opens when ending a break
- Add description to breaks
- Useful for documenting break reasons
Smart Break Reminders
Configure intelligent break suggestions. Access via Settings > Smart Break Reminders.
Enable Smart Breaks
Master toggle to turn break reminders on or off. When disabled, no break suggestions are sent.
Modes
Choose which intelligence modes are active:

| HealthKit | Pro | Uses Apple Health data (heart rate, HRV, standing, sleep) |
| Pattern Learning | Pro | Learns your habits and adapts over time |
You can enable multiple modes at once — they work together for more accurate suggestions.
If all modes are disabled, you won't receive any break reminders.
Work Style
Choose the style that matches how you work:

| Sprinter | More frequent short breaks |
| Balanced | Regular intervals (default) |
| Deep Focus | Longer focus periods between breaks |
Timing
Fine-tune when reminders are triggered:
- Maximum Focus Time — Longest you should work without a break (15–180 minutes, default: 90)
- Minimum Break Interval — Shortest gap between break reminders (5–60 minutes, default: 25)
Notification Style
Control how break reminders are delivered:

| Silent | In-app banner only, no push notification |
| Gentle | Push notification without sound |
| Assertive | Push notification with sound for urgent reminders |
| Strict | Critical alerts with sound for urgent reminders |
Quiet Hours
Suppress break reminders during specific hours:
- Enable Quiet Hours — Toggle on/off
- Start — Hour when quiet period begins (0–23)
- End — Hour when quiet period ends (0–23)
Weekend Mode
Control break reminders on weekends:

HealthKit Options (Pro)
When HealthKit mode is enabled, toggle individual health metrics:
- Heart Rate — Detect elevated stress from heart rate data
- HRV (Heart Rate Variability) — Identify mental fatigue
- Standing — Encourage movement when sedentary
- Sleep — Adjust recommendations based on last night's sleep
You need to grant Timesheet access to Apple Health for these features to work. The app will prompt for permission when you enable HealthKit mode.
Export Settings
Configure how data is exported.
CSV Separator
Choose the delimiter for CSV files:

| Comma (,) | Standard CSV, most applications |
| Semicolon (;) | European Excel, locales using comma as decimal |
Export Filename
Set a base name for export files:
- Enter your preferred prefix
- Timestamp is automatically appended
- Example: "Timesheet" → "Timesheet_2024-01-15.csv"
Default Export Fields
Configure which fields are included in exports:
- Go to Export screen
- Toggle fields on/off
- Reorder fields as needed
- Settings are remembered
Display Options
Relative Duration Display
Toggle how duration is shown:

Affects timer, project list, and statistics.
Appearance
Default Project Tab
Choose what shows first when opening a project:
- Details - Project information
- Tasks - Task list for the project
- Statistics - Project statistics and charts
Default Task Tab
Choose what shows first when opening a task:
- Details - Task information
- Breaks - Break list
- Expenses - Expense entries
- Notes - Task notes
Notification Settings
Configure alerts and notifications.
Alarm
Enable the alarm to receive periodic reminders while the timer is running:
- Alarm toggle - Enable/disable reminder notifications
- Alarm Interval - Set the interval in minutes between reminders (e.g., every 60 minutes)
This is useful to remind you that you're still tracking time.
Summary Notifications (Pro)
Receive periodic work summaries:
- Weekly Summary - Get a summary of your work week
- Monthly Summary - Get a summary of your work month
Sync
Manual Sync
Pull down on most screens to manually trigger sync.
Sync Status
View sync status:
- Go to More → Account
- Check last sync time
- View any sync issues
Siri Shortcuts
The Settings screen shows Siri tips for the available voice commands. Tap any tip to set up the Siri phrase. A link to the Shortcuts app is also provided for creating custom automations.

Account Settings
Manage your Timesheet account. Access via More → Account.
Profile
- View email and name
- Edit profile information
- Change profile photo
Subscription
- View current plan
- Upgrade or manage subscription
- Access billing information
Sign Out
- Go to More → Account
- Scroll to bottom
- Tap Sign Out
- Confirm sign out
If you have unsynced data, ensure you're connected before signing out to prevent data loss.
Delete Account
Permanently delete your account:
- Go to More → Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
- All data is permanently removed
Backup and Restore
Manual Backup
Export your data regularly:
- Go to Export
- Select "All Time" period
- Export as CSV or Excel
- Save to Files or cloud storage
Restore from Backup
For account data:
- Sign in to your account
- Data syncs automatically
- All projects and tasks restored
Reset Options
Reset Settings
Reset app settings to defaults:
- iOS Settings → Timesheet
- Look for reset option
- Confirm reset
Clear Local Data
Remove local cache:
- Delete and reinstall app
- Sign in to restore data
- Fresh local database
Always ensure you're signed in and synced before clearing data to prevent loss.
