Teams and Collaboration
Work together with your team on shared projects. The iOS app syncs team data and allows you to filter and view time entries across shared projects.
Teams and collaboration features require a Pro subscription.
Overview
When you're part of a team, you can:
- Access shared projects - Work on projects created by team members
- Track time collaboratively - Your entries sync to the team
- Use shared tags and rates - Maintain consistency across the team
- Filter by team - View tasks from specific teams
Team Concepts
Team Roles
Teams have different permission levels:

Shared vs Personal

Joining a Team
Team management (creating teams, inviting members, managing roles) is handled through the web application. The iOS app syncs your team membership automatically.
Accepting an Invitation
When someone invites you to a team:
- You receive an email invitation
- Accept the invitation via the link
- Open the Timesheet iOS app
- Pull down to sync
- Team projects appear in your project list
Finding Your Teams
To see which teams you belong to:
- Open a team filter (in task list or projects)
- View teams you have access to
- Your role determines available features
Working with Shared Projects
Identifying Shared Projects
Shared projects may display:
- Team indicator in project details
- "Shared" designation
- Team name in project information
Tracking Time on Shared Projects
- Select a shared project in the timer
- Start tracking as normal
- Your time is recorded under your account
- Entries sync to the team automatically
Viewing Team Contributions
For shared projects with appropriate permissions:
- Open the project
- View the task list
- Filter by team member (if manager+)
- See individual contributions
Filtering by Team
Team Filter
Filter tasks and projects by team:
- Open the Task List or Projects
- Access the filter options
- Select Team filter
- Choose a specific team
- View only items from that team
This is useful when you belong to multiple teams and want to focus on one.
Using Team Tags
When you have access to team tags:
- Team tags appear alongside personal tags
- Apply team tags for consistent categorization
- Filtering by team tags shows all team data
- Team tags sync across all members
Using Team Rates
When you have access to team rates:
- Team rates appear in the rate picker
- Select appropriate team rate for billing consistency
- Rate changes by admins update for all members

Pull down on most screens to manually trigger sync and get the latest team data.

Troubleshooting
Can't See Shared Projects
- Pull down to sync
- Check if project isn't archived
- Verify team membership is active
- Contact team admin if issue persists
Team Tags Not Appearing
- Ensure you're on a shared project
- Sync the app (pull down)
- Check team tag wasn't deleted
- Verify team membership is active
Data Not Syncing
- Check internet connection
- Pull down to force sync
- Verify you're signed in
- Check account status in Settings
To create teams, invite members, or manage team settings, use the Timesheet web application. The iOS app provides access to team features but team administration is managed online.
