Overtime
Overtime tracking compares your actual working hours against the target hours defined in your contract. It automatically calculates overtime or undertime for each period.
Overtime tracking requires a Business plan subscription and an active contract.
Viewing your overtime
Go to My Overtime to see your overtime balance. Each period shows:
- Target minutes: the hours you should work based on your contract
- Actual minutes: the hours you actually worked
- Overtime / Undertime: the difference between actual and target
- Compensated: overtime that has been paid out or taken as time off
- Remaining: your current overtime balance
Time categories
Your working hours are broken down by category:
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Regular | Standard working hours |
| Night | Hours worked during night shifts |
| Weekend | Hours worked on weekends |
| Holiday | Hours worked on public holidays |
| Standby | On-call hours |
| Early / Late Shift | Hours outside regular shift times |
Overtime tiers
Overtime can be calculated in up to three tiers, each with different surcharge rates. For example:
- Tier 1: first 10 hours of overtime at 125%
- Tier 2: next 10 hours at 150%
- Tier 3: additional hours at 200%
The exact tier thresholds and rates are configured in your contract or employment model.
Overtime status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | Overtime recorded, no action taken |
| Pending | Submitted for approval |
| Approved | Confirmed by a manager |
| Compensated | Paid out or taken as time off |
| Expired | No longer eligible for compensation |
Managing overtime as a manager
Managers can view and manage overtime balances for all members under Organizations > your organization > Overtime Balances.
From there you can:
- Review overtime balances per member and period
- Approve overtime
- Process compensation (payout or time off)
- Export overtime reports as PDF
Flex-time balance
If your contract includes flex-time, your overtime balance also tracks your flex-time carryover between periods. You can build up extra hours in one period and use them in another.
